Armstrong Energy, which operates six surface and six underground coal mines in the rich coal basin of the United States’ Ohio River Valley, recently took delivery of the worlds’ first full fleet of Cat Room and Pillar mining equipment from Cat dealer Whayne Supply. The fleet is now hard at work mining this rich coal seam, with four continuous miners, eight face haulers, roof bolters, feeder breakers and scoops working underground, and belt terminal groups carrying the coal to the surface.
